5-Minute Superfood Smoothie Bowl


I love smoothie bowls for their customizability and how easy they are to blend up! You can pretty much have any combination of fruit, nuts and toppings together to make a gourmet-looking, filling and nutritious breakfast, lunch or dessert. These power bowls are great when they are a bit on the thicker side, so they can be easily scooped up and enjoyed with a spoon. Check out my favourite, protein packed recipe below - it only takes 5 minutes to make!

INGREDIENTS

Smoothie base
  • 1 cup milk of choice 
  • 1 ½ cups frozen mixed berries 
  • 1 ripe banana 
  • ⅓ cup coconut nudefood peanut butter 
  • 2 tablespoons flax or chia seeds 
Toppings 
  • ½ cup granola
  • nudefood chocolate peanut butter (heated in the microwave for 30 seconds and stirred to make a drizzle) 
  • Seasonal fruit: Blueberries, raspberries  
Other super-food toppings you can add:
  • Cacao powder 
  • Shredded coconut
  • Matcha powder 
  • Nuts or seeds 
  • Spirulina 

METHOD

1 - Blend the banana and frozen fruit on low until they are chopped into small pieces. Add milk and chia seeds and blend till smooth. Add peanut butter and add more milk until it is the consistency you like.
2 - Scoop your smoothie into a bowl.
3 - Cover with your favourite toppings, and enjoy!
